blogger
A new tool I found that could help my students out is blogger.com. I think that it could help them because it can show me their interests and what they like to do so I know where they are coming from. I could use examples of their hobbies while I am teaching in the classroom so that it causes them to create interest in that subject. For student of the week, each student can create their own blog and we can spotlight someone and they could then share their blog to the rest of the class. I can email the parents and their students about announcements, notes, and grades too. They can also contact me if they need help with anything else there needs to be done.

Blogger is a great tool. You will need to check if it is blocked for students in the district you teach in. (It is in ours). There are a some other good options, though, like Edublog.
